President Tinubu Renames Airports

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have approved the renaming of some Airports across the country by the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria after some notable Nigerians. This was contained in a memo directed to all Head of Operations of FAAN and titled, “Naming of Federal Airports in favour of some prominent Nigerians,” by the Federal Ministry of Aviation dated June 1, 2023. The memo signed by the Director of Airport Operations, Mrs Joke Olatunji, was made available to The PUNCH on Monday, read, “I am directed to refer a memo with reference number, FMA/T4464/7090/T7B/647 from FAAN on the naming of some federal airports after notable Nigerians. Former President, Muhammadu Buhari, had had prior to the end of his administration approved the renaming of the 15 airports. The newly appointed Nigeria's Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal 'Hassan Bala Abubakar has called on junior officers of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to uphold the highest level of discipline, including respect for the rule of law and human rights, in their service to the nation. JAMB Approves 140 Cut-off Mark for Varsity Admissions, 100 for Others

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) had set 140 and above as cut off mark for 2022/23 admissions into universities and 100 for polytechnics and colleges of education across the country.  The Registrar of the board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this during a presentation at the 2023 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions and awards on Saturday in Abuja. The Registrar added that 100 had been approved as cut off mark into Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.
