Nigeria Police To Prosecute Comedian "Cute Abiola Over Violation Of Section 251 Of The Criminal Code

In a statement  released by the Police Public Relations Officer 'Olumuyiwa Adejobi, he stated that law which grants Nigerians the right to enjoy their fundamental human rights, the same law prohibits an individual, under whatever guise, from rubbishing the police institution or grossly violating its provisions with regards to the use of uniforms.  He added that the Force vehemently condemned the contemptuous act displayed by comedian Abdulgafar Abiola, popularly known as "Cute Abiola," regarding his two recent skits posted on his social media handles on 20th and 24th July, 2023. The skits in question show a highly disrespectful and derogatory portrayal of the police uniform, an action that is in direct violation of Section 251 of the Criminal Code and Section 133 of the Penal Code Law. Nigerian Government Increase Unity School Fees From N45K to N100k

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Education, has jerked up the school fees to be paid by new students into Federal Government Colleges, from ₦45,000 to ₦100,000. This was contained in a directive from the office of the Director of Senior Secondary Education Department of the Federal Ministry of Education with reference number ADF/120/DSSE/I, dated May 25, 2023, and addressed to all Principals of Federal Unity Colleges. According to the circular entitled, “Approved fees/charges for Federal Unity Colleges (1st Term) for new students, signed by the Director of Senior Secondary Education, Hajia Binta Abdulkadir, new students are expected to pay ₦100,000 instead of the previous N45,000 fees. Hushpuppi's associate, Mr Woodberry sentenced to eight years in prison by U.S court

Jacob Olalekan Ponle popularly known as Mr Woodberry and a close associate  of Hushpuppi has been sentenced to eight years and three months in prison for coordinating a multimillion-dollar fraud. Mr Woodberry who is a known associate of imprisoned Nigerian fraudster, Hushpuppi, was sentenced on July 11 by Judge Robert Gettleman of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago, after being convicted on one count charge of fraud. It was also learnt that seven other counts were dismissed following a plea bargain in April. The convict is now expected to surrender to U.S. Marshal Service for onward transfer to the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, where his family members, especially his American fiancĂ©e, would be allowed to visit him.  Mr Woodberry who will be deported after serving out his prison sentence, will pay seven victims about $8 million in restitution.
