Ethiopia To Receive 23,000 Metric Tons Of Grains From Ukraine As UN Ship Set Sail

A United Nations-chartered ship loaded with 23,000 metric tons of Ukrainian grain had set sail on Sunday from the Ukrainian port of Yuzhne, east of Odesa.

According to regional governor, Maksym Marchenko, he stated that ship is destined for Ethiopia following a brokered deal reached by the United Nations, Türkiye, Ukraine and Russia to allow stranded grains at Ukrainian ports to set sail in other prevent world hunger due to Russia blockage of seaports.

It is the first shipment of its kind in a program to assist countries facing famine.
