Inside The Only Existing Mobile Bakery Providing Lifeline to Gaza Amid Israeli Blockade

A Jordanian mobile bakery is offering critical food relief to Palestinians in Gaza, producing hundreds of thousands of loaves of bread weekly as Israelâs ongoing blockade severely restricts aid deliveries.
Despite a dire shortage of flour and the shutdown of most bakeries in the region, the Jordanian facility remains one of the few still operational. In just the past week, it produced approximately 390,000 loaves, operating 19 hours daily to meet the escalating needs of nearly 2 million people.
Deployed to Gaza in December, the bakery has the capacity to bake around 3,500 loaves per hour, or about 75,000 each day. It is part of Jordanâs wider humanitarian initiative, which also includes medical assistance.
Working in partnership with World Central Kitchen, an international aid organization, the bakeryâs bread is distributed to families across Gaza, including those in hard-to-reach areas. The organization has reaffirmed its commitment to serving Gazaâs population, even after the tragic loss of seven of its aid workers in an Israeli drone strike last year.
The Jordanian mobile bakery stands as a crucial source of sustenance in a region grappling with severe humanitarian challenges.
